Hi I'm Ha Nguyen
If there’s one thing you should know about me - it’s that my story with food started way before I even knew how to cook.
I grew up in Vietnam in a family where food wasn’t something we could just have whenever we wanted. Our meals were simple, and most days, we ate the same things over and over. And because of that, I learned to appreciate food in a way that stuck with me.
As I got older, I moved - a lot. First to new cities, then to new countries - before eventually making my way back home. And somewhere along the way, food became more than just something to eat. It became a discovery. I got to try things I never knew existed, flavors that told stories, and dishes that somehow made strangers feel like family. But through it all, no matter how much I learned or how many cuisines I fell in love with, I always found myself coming back to my roots. The meals I grew up with were simple, but they stayed with me.
If you ask anyone who’s eaten with me, they’ll tell you - I’m that person who constantly says, “I used to eat this all the time as a kid” or “Wow, this tastes just like home.” I always see myself chasing those familiar tastes, recreating the dishes that once felt so ordinary but now mean so much. If anything, my roots have only grown stronger. I’m still that same person who grew up on simple Vietnamese meals—just with a little more experience and a lot more appreciation.
